Description
The PreciseLOOP SOTA-1 is a very light weight Magnetic Loop Antenna (MLA) ideal for SOTA operations for receive and transmit use. It is a convenient, lightweight magnetic loop antenna. It can be deployed quickly and is ideal for use in portable operations such as Summit On The Air (SOTA) ops, where light weight and easy setup is important. Many operators favor the MLA for field day and portable operations and where HOA restrictions limit larger antennas. When designed and constructed properly, a MLA can perform as well or even better than a dipole antenna. A MLA is a very simple antenna. It is just an inductor formed by a wire loop and capacitor tuned to resonance. How well this antenna works depends on several factors: The PreciseLOOP SOTA-1 is optimized for portable and SOTA operations featuring portability and QRP power handling capability (15W PEP). It features a precision 3:1 reduction dial with calibrated dial marking, a high surface area Cell-flex 3/8 radiation loop, copper tube induction loop and a twelve foot 50 ohm feed line. It comes in a light weight convenient premium nylon bag.

Low Loss Tuner
The tuner is the heart of any MLA. The capacitor must be very low loss with high Q. It must have sufficient high voltage rating to handle the designed power. The PreciseLOOP SOTA-1 features a custom dual stator high Q air variable capacitor driven by a 3:1 reduction dial along with calibrated dial markings.
PreciseLOOP SOTA-1 easily fits into a light weight premium nylon bag.
