The handy RF Sensor Kit

ITEM SENSOR KIT CUThe Sensor Kit  includes the key sensors for most ham radio measurements. Check transmission lines, SWR, Return Loss, forward and reflected power for analyses with your oscilloscope.  Your scope response time is far faster than any meter movement or digital display update. By using your calibrated oscilloscope and these sensors, your measurements will be far more accurate than analog meters and easier for adjustments than digital displays. You get quantitative results which make comparison and absolute measurements much more accurate.

Correct Signal Conditioning

Most oscilloscopes with 50 ohm inputs and spectrum analyzers, have power input level limits, generally -30dBM. When making measurements, such as absolute power, return loss, or forward and reflected power using your spectrum analyzer or oscilloscope, signal conditioning is essential. Our preciseRF sensors are ideal for conditioning your signals. Signal energy is coupled inductively to the output port on all our sensors. Output levels are precisely set to -30dB for correct signal level conditioning and low insertion loss. This technique ensures accurate and repeatable quantitative results.

Return Loss Bridge

The RLB-I internal reference (three ports) is a high performance ReturnLoss Bridge optimized for ham radio applications. The internal reference impedance is 50 ohms. The bridge components are precision SMD devices with a wide band 1:1 750 MHz SMD transformer using micro strip construction.

HFS1.5 Sampler

This wide band RF sample/coupler inductively couples a sample of the high power RF (up to 1.5 KW PEP) passing from the RF IN to the RF OUT connector. The sampled RF signal is at a -30 dB level; that is a power gain of .001 (i.e. a power reduction of 1000:1). This reduced level conditions the RF so that is compatible with most oscilloscope vertical input amplifiers. For example, if your scope is set to 1v/div, then each division of signal equals 31.6 volts, (i.e. as if the scope was set to 31.6 volts/div).

DDS-1 Dual Directional Coupler

The DDS-1 dual directional coupler measures forward and reflected power of a device in a 50 ohm environment.  It is more precise than a simple SWR meter since the reflected and forward power may be observed directly on an oscilloscope. The RF IN port connects to the HF signal source. This source is normally the transmitter and or linear HF amplifier. The RF OUT connects to a 50 ohm load. This load can be a transmission line, antenna, or a dummy load. When the load completely absorbs the energy from the signal source, little if any power is reflected,

Pelican Case

The Pelican’s cases unique Pick ‘N Pluck foam. This foam is pre-cut which allows you to customize the interior by half inch cubes. The unbreakable case is, watertight, airtight, dust-proof, chemical resistant and corrosion proof.  It is made of Ultra High Impact structural copolymer that makes it extremely strong and durable. Its exclusive 1/4″ (6.4 mm) neoprene o-ring and ABS latches seal perfectly and includes an automatic purge valve for quick equalization after changes in atmospheric pressure.

Hello, I’m trnyig to do the same thing, but i’m trnyig to combine ShiftPWM + FFT. I’m using a MSGEQ7 (7x Band Grpahic Equalizer IC) and I want to use 7x columns of RGB LEDs for each of the 7 different frequencies. I just want to know If i will connect all the RGB LEDs via the same CLk, DATA, and LATCH pins on Arduino (Leonardo) without having to worry about hardwiring each column of LEDs to different digital output pins for the different frequencies Please help on this I will be using 74HC595 Shift Registers which will be connected in series, but i dont know if the 74HC595 s from all the 7 columns will be connected all together or seperately
